Product Description
If you're looking for a dual-purpose telescope appropriate for both terrestrial and celestial viewing, then the AstroMaster Series is for you. Each AstroMaster model is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. The AstroMaster Series produce bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors.

Celestron 31035 Reviews

rated 5 out of 5 Nice Scope to Start With-Not a Toy
by T. Stepp from LA, CA, 2010-05-08

I had purchased a scope from another mfr and everything about it was cheap, it was a simple refractor and it was missing the diagonal mirror so I couldn't use it. They shipped me the mirror, but but that time I exchanged the product and got this Newtonian Telescope from Celestron. The quality was superior, it was more $ but worth it. Easy to set up, there are two options, either go on Celestron's website and watch the video, (just remember that the 76EQ mounds using the screws to the orange base of the telescope, not the circle mounts shown in the video which is for the higher end model). Or just pull out the sheet that goes step by step.

It comes with SkyX software-which works on my mac, and is great for bringing along, just tap in what you want to see , saturn, jupiter, etc, and it'll give you the coordinates. After you fool around with the scope for a while. Make sure you align the scope to Polaris, once that's done, you should be ready to get serious.

The unit also comes with 2 eye pieces, you can buy more, my next purchase is most likely is a case for it for traveling.

rated 4 out of 5 Great Scope , Great Price ! ! ! !

I have owned 8 maybe 10 telescopes in my life . Mostly lower priced models ( Gilbert,Tasco,Bushnell )that I use for a year or two and give away . I always wanted a Celestron Newtonian and knew I was in for a pleasant surprise when I first lifted the unopened box (nearly 30 pounds) . Opening the box I went directly to the tube , and saw it was aluminum . Every single part I de-boxed was a well built part . Easy to assemble and has a great equatorial mount with steel legs on the stand . I wish it came with two eyepieces , but hey , I'll order a different one from Celestron . Buy it , if it be your first scope , or eleventh , you WILL be grateful you did
